I loved creating this collection, summer is my season, and who doesn’t love line drying laundry for the fresh scent of salt air! I’ve been wanting to return to collage and thought this would be perfect opportunity to bring it back. The backgrounds add texture, pattern, and stripes giving a nod to classic New England style. Grasscloth is one of my favorite ways to reference easy breezy summer… an espadrille, straw hat, rattan, sand etc., the grasscloth wallpaper I use is from a leftover piece, from my dining room years ago (pieces of it have appeared in my collages back to 2018). The alternating stripes are painted watercolor paper cut into strips, each layer adds interest and a little bit of depth to the pieces. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did creating them, and that they add some whimsey to your walls. I can see these framed in a tortoise finish bamboo, or a gilt frame.
